Compare the Babyletto Toco Swivel Glider and Cali Pillowback Chair on size, weight capacity, and comfort to find the best nursing chair for your nursery.
Quick answer
If you need a compact, budget-friendly glider for a smaller nursery, choose the Babyletto Toco Swivel Glider and Ottoman. If you prioritize extra-wide seating and a higher weight capacity, the Babyletto Cali Extra-Wide Pillowback Chair is worth the investment.
Size and footprint: Toco fits tight spaces, Cali offers sprawl
The Toco is noticeably more compact at 83.5 cm long, 65 cm wide, and 99 cm high, making it a practical pick for smaller nurseries or rooms with limited floor space. The Cali is significantly wider and deeper, measuring 93 cm long, 94 cm wide, and 105 cm high, so it demands more room but delivers a more spacious seat.
If you plan to nurse for long stretches, the Cali's extra width (75 cm seat width vs 49.5 cm) gives you room to shift positions or even sit cross-legged. But if your nursery is tight, the Toco's smaller footprint will leave more space for a crib and dresser.
Weight capacity: a key difference for larger users
The Toco supports up to 130 kg, while the Cali supports up to 136 kg. Both are designed for gentle rocking or gliding only, so if you expect vigorous motion, neither is suitable. The difference matters if you or your partner are close to the limit—the Cali offers a slightly higher margin.
Keep in mind that both chairs are meant for gentle movement, not bouncing or heavy rocking. If you need a chair for more active motion, consider a different style.
Trade-offs to help you decide
- Space vs. comfort: The Toco saves floor space but has a narrower seat. The Cali takes up more room but offers a much wider, more spacious seat. Measure your nursery before choosing—if space is tight, the Toco; if comfort is paramount, the Cali.
- Weight capacity: The Cali supports up to 136 kg, the Toco up to 130 kg. Both are for gentle rocking only. If you or your partner are near the limit, the Cali gives a bit more margin.
- Price and value: The Toco is more budget-friendly (USD 721.97 vs USD 1079.28), but the Cali offers more seat width and a higher weight limit. If the extra comfort and capacity justify the cost, the Cali is worth the premium.
